Welcome to the 16th annual Lakes Bluegrass Festival (LBF) being held at the beautiful Lakes Music and Events Park!
Below are a few details and rules we want to bring to your attention so we can make the festival safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Wrist Bands Required: The Lakes Bluegrass Festival is a paid event. You must have and wear a wristband to be anywhere on the grounds. Wristbands may be purchased at the Front Gate at the north end of the Park or at Festival Headquarters near the Food Court.
Coolers: Coolers must be kept at your vehicle or at your campsite. You may bring a beverage or snacks with you into the concert area—just no coolers.
Concert Area Etiquette: Please keep your conversations in the concert area to a minimum length and volume during performances. It is best to have those conversations between band set ups or step to the back where you won’t bother people listening to the music. Please remove large hats. No sun umbrellas. Please keep your children with you. No cell phone conversations in concert area.
Concert Area Chairs Policy: Over the years we have received many comments about all the empty chairs sitting in the prime locations in front of the stage. In response, we have changed our chair policy. If you leave your chair in the concert area unattended, you are granting permission for someone else to sit in your chair in your absence. Others call this the “Minnesota Nice” policy. If someone is using your chair in your absence, ask them to please vacate your chair when you return. If you do not want others sitting in your chair when you are absent, please take your chair with you when you leave the concert area.
Adult Beverages Sold Onsite: A variety of adult beverages will be sold onsite and are allowed throughout the grounds, including in the concert area. Festival volunteers will be monitoring BEHAVIOR in the concert area not the mere presence of an adult beverage. No loud or disruptive behavior will be tolerated in the Park and may be grounds for ejection without refund. Absolutely no illegal drugs are allowed anywhere on the grounds.
Smoking: The Concert Area, Food Court, Workshop and Backstage Pavilions, Showers and porta johns are entirely smoke free.
Weather: The festival goes on rain or shine. We have limited rain and sun shelter in the concert area. Sorry, no refunds.
People Mover Shuttle: We have a people mover to help those needing assistance get to and from the concert area. Shuttle stops have signs and are designated on the site map—Front Gate, Concert Area and several others as designated. Golf carts are to assist the handicapped and will be located by the shuttle stops. They are also used by volunteers to perform their duties. If you need assistance, please use the people mover rather than flagging down a golf cart.
Garbage and Recycling: Please put your garbage in the receptacles provided. There is a dumpster on the north and south ends of the park and cans by the Front Gate, Concert Area and Food Court. Please note that our waste service provider cannot accommodate recycling for this event. If you choose to recycle, please take your recyclables with you when you leave.
Camping and Extended Camping: On-site camping may be purchased at the Front Gate with a weekend ticket, subject to availability. There are three types of campsites: Electric (reservable), Non- electric (reservable) and Primitive (first come, first served). Our Special Event Permit allows camping for 14 days from Friday August 19 to Thursday Sept. 1, 2022. Additional camping fees apply. Please pay for extra nights at the Festival Headquarters (by the Food Court).
Firewood: To rent a fire ring and purchase approved firewood, make note of your campsite number and go to Festival Headquarters near the Food Court to make arrangements for delivery.
Onsite Showers: Free, portable showers are available at the South end of the Park between Banjo Blvd. and Fiddle Fairway.
RV Dump Station: A dump station is located on the north side of the Park as you exit. A $10 fee applies to help offset the pumping costs.
Pets: Pets are allowed at your campsite. No pets in the concert area. You must clean up after your pet. If your pet makes excessive noises, you will be asked to remove it from the festival grounds. Please check with the Pine River Chamber of Commerce for pet boarding options in the area.
Golf Carts: You may use your own golf cart provided you stay on the roads, are 18+ and older with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Absolutely no golf carts in the Concert Area. ATVs and UTVs are not allowed except for use by Festival Staff Members.
